Supplier Quality Engineer

Working with state of the art technology and world-class customers requires flexibility and communication to produce reliable, brilliant solutions.    Your Challenge As a Supplier Quality Engineer at DWFritz, you will be responsible to drive continuous improvements within the DWFritz supply chain. This position will support the development and qualification of suppliers, leading to improvements in quality, delivery, and cost.   Your Responsibilities Oversee continuous improvement programs, including corrective and preventative action plans, with our key suppliers. Report results of these programs to Sourcing, Quality and Manufacturing leadership teams. Collaborate with Commodity Management and Purchasing to manage, report and drive improvement in suppliers' performance. Participate in business reviews with suppliers. Analyze supplier quality information and trends. Utilize quality tools (FMEA & 8D, as examples) to investigate and prioritize quality concerns, and to develop action plans to resolve and verify corrective actions on internal processes and supplier processes. Partner with sourcing and engineering to evaluate suppliers or potential suppliers, including capability, cost, quality, reliability and risk assessments. Plan, conduct and follow-up with supplier, or supplier related, audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and driving supplier implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Identify improvement potential of suppliers. Develop and monitor continuous improvement plans. Create procedures and processes to support best practice supplier quality management methods and processes. Recommend test and inspection equipment and methods as required to achieve supplier quality goals.  Maintain positive supplier relationships.  Maintain a positive, productive relationship with project teams.  Follow department policy and procedures.   Your Qualifications  Knowledge of improvement methodologies (Lean or 6-sigma is preferred), auditing experience and statistical methods. Basic Engineering knowledge in DOE, FMEA, SPC, Process Characterization, GR&R. Experience in 8D Corrective and Preventative Action processes. Familiar with Engineer drawings and GD&T. Strong interpersonal skills within a collaborative team environment with multiple stakeholders. Basic knowledge of MRP/ERP software and systems. Proactive, results driven, and a keen sense of urgency. Excellent problem solving and decision making skills. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).   Your Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or relevant experience required. 5+ years of relevant professional experience.  Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred. Demonstrated success reviewing supplier performance and driving change with supplier executive management teams. Working knowledge of Supply Chain Management processes.  Experience in New Product Development or in a Project-Based manufacturing environment preferred.
